Today, SkyReplay uploads nothing. Every flight you open stays on your own machine. There is no account, and there is no copy of your flight anywhere but your own computer.

Accounts are being built. When they arrive, keeping flights on our servers will be something you choose, and this page describes what that will mean. Nothing changes until you sign in.

What happens now, without an account

Flights you open are stored in your browser, or on your disk in the desktop app.
Map imagery, elevation and place names are fetched from third parties as you fly the replay. Those providers see the usual things a web request carries, including your IP address and roughly where on the map you are looking.
Sharing a flight by link puts the flight inside the link. The part after the # is never sent to any server, so we never receive it.
We run no analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising. We do not know who you are.

What will happen if you sign in

Signing in is optional and off by default. If you choose it:

Who you are. Your name, email address and profile picture, from the Google account you sign in with. We never see or store a password.
Your flights. The tracks you choose to keep, stored in our own storage on Cloudflare. A flight track is a detailed record of where you were and when — please treat it as you would any location history.
Who you follow. Follow requests, approvals, and which pilots you have allowed to see your flights.
Live positions, if you switch live tracking on for a flight. These are kept while you fly and become part of that flight afterwards.

Who can see your flights

Nobody, unless you say so. Every flight starts private. You can share a single flight by link, or approve individual pilots to follow you. Approval is always yours to give and yours to take back.

Where it is kept, and for how long

Flights and account data are stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication. We keep your flights until you delete them or close your account, at which point they go for good.

What you can always do

Download any flight, in the original file you uploaded.
Delete a single flight, or every flight at once.
Close your account, which deletes everything we hold about you.
Ask what we hold, and have it corrected.

If you are in the UK or the EU, those are your rights under GDPR and we will honour them whether or not you are.

What we will never do

Sell your data, or share it with advertisers.
Make a private flight public, or show your position to someone you have not approved.
Upload anything from your machine without you asking us to.

Getting in touch

SkyReplay is run by one person. Write to the address on skyscore.pro and it reaches them directly.

A note on this document. It is written in plain English by the person who built the app, not by a lawyer, and it describes what the software actually does. Before accounts open to the public it should be reviewed properly — particularly for GDPR, since flight tracks are location data about identifiable people.
